It’s been quite some time since I kept a blog, and now I’m starting two. We’ll see how this goes!
I aim to blog about all things business over at my business blog, and I realise that once I turn on the tap of writing again, I will also have non-business things I’ll want to share, so I’m setting up this space for those.
A few random factoids about me:
I live near the Peak District, England, UK, with my husband Chris.
That’s a photo of us at Lizard Point, Cornwall (the most southerly point on this island). We both really love Cornwall.
We enjoy carving pumpkins every October, and love introducing it to friends. This spring, we were surprised to get some white eggs, so I promptly ordered some egg dye and we had a fun evening of dying them.
I can’t identify most plants to save my life – I have banned myself from any kind of foraging.
I do, however, enjoy watching the seasonal canter from snowdrops through daffodils through bluebells and beyond.
I love learning, and am always learning something. At the moment it’s more qualifications in my current field. I’m very old school with my studying, preferring paper, and lots of colours. My best friend and I, in 8th grade (13-14 years old), had desks facing each other in one science class (we were in groups of four), and at the beginning of every class we’d pool our coloured pens and highlighters together between us for our note taking. Still one of my favourite memories from school.
I’m a mathematician, a bookkeeper, a business adviser, a system creator, a data wrangler, a wife, a friend, a sister, an aunt, a daughter, a granddaughter, a storyteller, a business owner, a volunteer, an immigrant, a dual citizen, a stationery fanatic, a lifelong learner, a reader, a (computer) coder, a scientist, a spreadsheet goddess, a cook, a baker, an occasional seamstress, a lapsed musician, a pagan, and much more. Like everyone else, parts of me are complementary and parts are contradictory. Living with life’s paradoxes means we get bored less often. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by, and feel free to leave a comment. I look forward to getting to know you better.
