You go on vacation for different reasons, so you have different kinds of vacation.
Sometimes you need some excitement, something to shake things up a bit.
Sometimes you need to do some personal development, so you go to a retreat or a week-long seminar or something.
Sometimes you need a rest.
That was us this time. We mostly needed a rest.
So, our first full day in Cornwall was spent lazing about the cottage. It was a rainy day, so this worked out well for a do-nothing day.
I read, watched some tv; I don’t fully remember. We just chilled.
It went pretty in the evening, so we decided to wander down the path towards the sea and see what there was to see.
This sign we passed cracked us up. It says:
If you meet our dog, Daisy, please do not make a fuss of her.
Command her to GO HOME! in a very assertive manner, please. She is a black and tan hunterway. Daisy is very friendly and knows where she lives and will go home on command. She is our working farm dog and my best friend, but she is also very naughty and likes to greet anyone walking on our farm.
If necessary, please contact us on [phone number redacted].
We had ordered grocery delivery, so we wandered back to the cottage to receive that. We were delighted that the driver found us! Despite how far out in Rural we were! Yay! 🥳
After we put away the groceries, we wandered back down the path to watch the sunset. Unfortunately, so did 50 gazillion gnats. 😖
But it was lovely despite that. We didn’t get to see the sunset proper this time – this bank of clouds was in the way – but it was still nice.
All in all, a great day.
